Texas Toast is one of those things that is great to get from the freezer aisle, but even better when made from scratch. And easy too!
This is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious, Italian dinner or the perfect thing to add to your buffet line at the cookout. We know it may seem like overkill to include fresh garlic and garlic powder, but we think adding both adds an extra dimension of garlicky goodness that will have you reaching for another slice in no time.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, grated
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. dried parsley or Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 loaf white bread, sliced into about 10 3/4-inch slices
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 400°. In a medium bowl, combine butter, garlic, garlic powder, dried parsley, and salt. Lay out bread slices onto a sheet tray and brush each side of each slice generously with the garlic-butter mixture.
- Bake the toast, flipping halfway through, until golden, about 12 minutes. Serve immediately.
